Equipment for Corporate Clients

Reliability and flexibility
If you're adding to a network, starting from scratch, or upgrading existing systems, we have the guidance, skills, and equipment to get everything working smoothly with no fuss, and with the absolute minimum of interruptions to your staff. Our computer equipment is of the highest brand-name quality, and each unit is thoroughly 'load tested' for five days before being installed.

Personal delivery and installation
Every computer system is personally delivered, installed and configured by our IT services team members, and appropriate staff training is offered at the same time. This 'No Time Wasted' policy gives 49th.NET's clients the security of knowing that everything turns up on time, gets installed quickly, and that their staff know how to use new equipment properly from day one.

Networked Workstations

  The network workstations we supply are well specified computers with high performance networking capabilities. Each computer bears two network cards, two 'mirrored' hard disks, two floppy disk drives, two DVD/CD drives, and comes with a spare keyboard and mouse. Hard disks are mounted in removable caddies so swap-outs can be done in minutes, rather than hours. If required, we can also supply a low cost 'bare bones' workstation which can be used as an on-the-spot spare in case of any physical damage to a network workstation.

We also offer a first class network cabling service, and will supply and configure racks, hubs, switches, routers, patch panels, fly leads and other networking components as needed.

Rack-mountable Servers

  Network servers need to be resilient and unbreakable. Each 49th.NET server is built in either a 2U or 4U (height) rack chassis, and they all make use of hot-swappable SCSI hard disks, set up as a 'RAID 5' array (so even a faulty disk doesn't kill the server, and it can be swapped without powering down).

They're all equipped with three network cards, an extra (spare) hard disk, a spare power supply unit, and a spare keyboard and mouse. For mission-critical servers, four hour on-site maintenance cover can be added (otherwise, a year's worth of next working day cover is included). We can also supply a low cost 'bare bones' server which can be used as an on-the-spot spare in case of any physical damage to a server.

Mobile Computing

  We supply range of well known brands of laptops, palm-top computers, sub-notebook format computers, and personal digital assistants (PDAs), all of which enable remote communication with your offices, and offer an easy-to-carry package for executives and staff who travel. And, with an infrared or Bluetooth mobile phone, you have full internet access from almost anywhere in the world. We have selected some of the most powerful, robust, and reliable machines, and each comes with 3 years world-wide coverage for damage or failure, serviced by the manufacturer's own agents.

Software

  For your operating systems, all workstations and laptops are supplied with a choice of Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional or Microsoft Windows XP Professional. Servers are always supplied with Microsoft Windows 2000 Server (with 10 client access licenses). PDAs and handheld devices usually come with Microsoft Windows CE 2002.

For productivity software, such as word processing, spread sheets, database work and e-mail, we supply a choice of Microsoft Office 2000 Professional or Microsoft Office XP Professional. We also provide a number of other business critical products such as the latest Norton Antivirus suite, firewall software and mobile connectivity and synchronisation software (such as Laplink, ActiveSync and AvantGo).

Office Productivity

  When you need printers, scanners, shredders, cables, spare parts, ink and toner cartridges, we have everything you'll need. Consumables can be mailed direct to you, while the bigger peripherals can be delivered, installed, and configured in person by our IT services team.

We have selected a range of well known brands which we know will serve any office well. We provide Hewlett Packard printers and scanners, and all the necessary spares, consumables and papers you'll need to go with them.

   Note:  We will not usually sell equipment, maintenance contracts, accessories, or consumables to non-business users or private individuals.
